About S. Vernon Alsbrooks S. Vernon Alsbrooks is a native of Columbia, Ohio. He attended Marion-Franklin High School. After leaving High School, he matriculated to Washington, DC to the Howard University in 1979 on a football scholarship. While at Howard, he pledged and became a member of the distinguish men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. After college, S. Vernon gave his life to Jesus Christ. He also joined the DC Metropolitan Police Department in 1986. During his tenure, he was promoted to Master Patrol Office. S. Vernon also was elected Chief Shop Steward for the Second Police District. He retired in 2011. After retirement, S. Vernon went back to law enforcement from 2013 until the present. He is a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church under the leadership of Bishop Alfred A. and Co-Pastor Susie C. Owens. He has served on multiple ministries. S. Vernon currently serves on the Security Ministry and the Men's Prayer Group Ministry which he started. In 2013, he had a vision from God to create a program for the community entitled "Survial Skills When Stopped by the Police". Officer Alsbrooks is married to the love of his life Evangelist Carol Alsbrooks for 31 years and together they have two sons, Aaron and Andrew Alsbrooks. |
